Hedda and Adela
well i think that Hedda and Adela are two characters that share a lot in common. they both kill themselves at the end and in my opinion for many of the same reasons..for example they both are frustrated with their lives and look for someone to turn to but cant find anyone..which results in them killing themselves. hedda is upset with the fact that she cant obtain control over anyone in her life and she tells herself that there is no other way for her to live. adela on the other hand cant live with the fact that she will never have control of her family and that she wont get what she wants in life...i also think she realizes that no matter where she goes there will always be something in here way of being happy which is also what Hedda feels. they both are fed up with life and they are both so weak that the end up committing suicide.

I agree Hedda kills herself because she lacked the courage to live with "scandal" and because she sees no way out of her situation.Adela kills herself because she fears there is no way out but death.....But i have a question para tu...does killn them selves solidify them as being brave or a coward.
i think it makes them cowards and weak as women becasue women are supposed to be string but neither of them can deal with what life has to bring. ¿comprendas?
I think that women had to die in order for the authors to prove their point during their time period, because if they hadn't die, maybe their point can't be proven. idk, but it cerntaintly showed me the theme of women being controlled by men during their time period
