I noticed that Lysistrata invites women from many different countries to join in her oath to abstinence. At first i wasn't sure why she did it but then i thought about it in class when we had to do a journal about it and it made me think about the possibilities. First i thought that she did this because she wanted to make a world wide impact instead of just her community. For example, if Lys. only had people who live in the same area than she may only have an impact with the soldiers in her community but if she asked people world wide than she would have a better chance of ending the war peacefully. I also think she did this to unify the women all over the world and show that they can all stay together and be strong.

I agree. She's a very charismatic leader, so she's able to foster unity, yet I have a qualm about hte portrayal of the other women. The thick, Southern accent of Lampito suggests unintelligence-I just didn't like it.
lol..good point but maybe shes there to create a sense of balance amongst the women to show that they all support eachother- always
I agree with you but didnt she bring the women together from different parts of one country? I think she was trying to bring together the women within the country for more support and to unify the people so it wasn't just those from the city of athens.. But I do think she was trying to make a worldwide impact by ending the war and therefore making peace with another nation. Or to also set an example for other countries alike.
